Today.

So, I took the little ladies to Walmart and Target this morning.... plunked down a pile of money, or in my case, plastic card tied to bank account, for a new camcorder (oohh.. it's very nice) and assorted other items, like a new part for the breast pump since... my DOG ate part of it, rendering the double pump, well... un-double-able... anyway... Got an external hard drive to store pictures and etcs. on so that the when the computer crashes and burns, we will not lost every single digital memory of the last 4 years.
On our way in to Target, I took Sweet Pea out of her car seat and sat her in the top of the cart- to which Ladybug began screaming... me.. baby....googoo ga-ga... Over and over and over again. I took her into the bathroom and we negotiated... Or rather, I negotiated while she cried. Then I told her we were leaving if she didn't KNOCK IT OFF RIGHT NOW and did she want a snack and drink from the snack bar? Hallelujah! It was a miracle- the crying ended, the baby talk ceased and suddenly, my 3 year old was back. Good times.
The entire time Ladybug was crying, Sweet Pea was sitting in the cart, crying because of how scary her sister sounded. When Ladybug stopped, Sweet Pea stopped.
While I was feeding Sweet Pea lunch this afternoon, Ladybug was sitting next to me, making faces at her sister and demanding that I pretend to be Blue from Blues clues. Sweet Pea kept laughing hysterically at Ladybug and I would "talk" like Blue while Superman yelled at all three of us to "be quiet because I can't hear".
I'm thinking of changing the name of my blog to Mass Chaos... it's slightly more fitting.

Uhhh.... yuck!

Yesterday, I caught puke in my hands, cleaned up chocolate milk that was spilled on my bed, sat my 5 month old daughter on the toilet to help her poop and wondered when I became so immune to bodily functions.
Today, I pulled boogers out of two little girls' noses and made sure one daughter had a bath this morning because last night, she threw up in her sleep and laid in hot dog puke all night. She, having no idea that she slept in her own vomit, was resistant to the idea of a bath. Once she learned of her utter disgustingness, she agreed to a bath. Now, lest you think I make a habit of allowing my children to sleep in their own vomit, I did clean up as much as was necessary for comfortable sleeping and maintaining my daughter's state of sleep. I changed her pj top when I got her up to pee and made sure the CHUNKS of hot dogs from yesterday's LUNCH were cleaned out of her bed. Oh, gross.
Ah yes, motherhood... it does change a girl. :)

Soooo... February has been fun!

Yeah, so I've been away from the blog for most of the month, as our dear friend Ted pointed out.... My only excuse is this: I'm too darn busy to sit down and write about any of the craziness that's been going on this month!
I'll try to recap, but I'm sure I'll miss most of the good and funny stuff:
-Our van is broken. Really broken. We have not had it for the last week. It's back now, not repaired, and we're waiting to take it somewhere else on Monday. It's the only vehicle we have.... so needless to say, we're hoping for a QUICK fix.
-Sweet Pea rolled over today. We didn't see it because she was in her crib, but I know she did it because when I put her down, she was on her back. I went in to check on her and she was on her tummy, screaming bloody murder.
-Ladybug turned 3! at the beginning of the month. The same day, Sweet Pea turned 5 months! We had a fun party for Ladybug's birthday and she had a blast! She has gone from the sweet 2's to the wretched and ridiculous threes. We're hoping this year or this phase go by very QUICKLY!
-Superman is part rooster- the other night, when he was supposed to be sleeping, he was in his sisters' room, cock-a-doodle-doing his heart out. He had turned on the light and was attempting to wake the two sleeping princesses. Thankfully, he was unsuccessful, but not for lack of trying.
-Jefferson and I have lost a combined 50lbs. since January 1st. He's lost 26 and I've lost 24. I couldn't be more proud of him for how hard he is working! We both work out most everyday- and for the most part, actually want to! I can honestly say it's the first time in my life I have ever wanted to be physically active. I enjoy it and I miss working out if I skip a day.
-I have learned that I am a stress eater through and through. Yesterday was a truly bizzare day and the first thing I wanted to do was ransack the kitchen. Thank God for His grip on me. I know it was only because of Him that I didn't. I literally prayed myself out of the kitchen most of the day. Unless you're a stress eater, you have no idea what I'm talking about! :)
-Sweet Pea likes to rock! We've discovered that anytime there's music- she rocks it out! We love it!
- Superman is doing great! He's loving preschool and can't wait for homeschool kindergarten... which is the other thing that's been taking a lot of my time and thought. I am researching and beginning to plan and think about what next year will look like and everything that comes with it. I'm alternatingly excited and overwhelemd. I also found out that I am able to renew my lapsed PA certificate if I complete 180 hours of continuing ed. credit, which I could do several ways. I would really like to do that because then I will be able to evaluate Superman's work myself and also offer my services as a homeschool evaluator to other families. I am still trying to figure out how to squeeze the courses in to an already busy life.
- More updates coming soon, I promise. Well, I promise to try anyway. :)
