Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!
Last week, we were heading up to do some Christmas shopping at the mall when all of a sudden, Ladybug asked if she could watch John McCain when we got home. We've bene laughing about it ever since! Every once and a while she asks if she can watch John McCain or if she can watch TLC. Tonight, I had TLC on in our room while I was trying to put Sweet Pea to bed and Ladybug came in... she asked if we could watch John McCain on TLC... the one with the kids! And then, it hit me... John McCain is ACTUALLY.... John & Kate Plus Eight on TLC. Oh, how I love my almost three year old girl!

Lively Nativity!

We got our youth group kiddos together tonight to take a photo to send to the newspaper to advertise this coming Sunday's Live Nativity at the church. Included in the promo shot were our kids and Jackie's girls...
Superman was a sweet little grey kitty cat and Ladybug was a precious angel. Sweet Pea makes a cuddly little Baby Jesus!

SNOW!!!

Jefferson was helping at the Christian outreach tonight, so I took the kids and we went to the store. While we were there, we found SLEDS! and we HAD to get them because it is snowing and we want to SLED and we have no SLEDS!!!!!
SO.....

Two ecstatic kiddos with their new SLEDS!!!!

Jefferson came out to sled with them and they had a blast! While they were playing, I gave Sweet Pea her bath and got her ready for bed.... I think she may be figuring out that camera's are fun....
Here's a sampling from her "photo shoot"... she started out screaming her head off, but after a few flashes, she was ready to pose!

Happy Sweetpea! She loves the camera!

Watching TLC's What not to Wear while Mommy takes her picture. Maybe she should nominate Mommy? :)

They even took the bathroom sink!

Oh, my! We went on a lovely family outing yesterday to Ikea and returned home to find that our upstairs bathroom sink had been completely removed. Ralph, our church's wonderful maintainence and facilities guru, had been over to fix the enormous leak in our bathroom. He left once, while we were still home, with a piece of pipe, saying that there were several things wrong. When we got home, no sink. at all.... Nothing where the sink should be. That was last night. It's two in the afternoon and we've had a large amount of winter come our way, which means that Ralph's been plowing a lot today, and so, no sink. Now, it's not THAT big of deal, but it does make you know, washing your hands, brushing teeth, etc. in the bathroom slightly more challenging. Jefferson wins the trooper award for his ability to shave over the tub and brush his teeth while narrowly avoiding spitting on his sleeve. Good times!
In other news, Jefferson was the first person to correctly identify the photos of his own daughters. I have disqualified him from winning, so that means Nancy is the winner! Despite Nancy's gift of her winnings to Jefferson, she can expect a package from the Everyday Adventures family to arrive sometime next week. :) Merry Christmas!

My girls

Darn you sugar

Okay folks, I think it's time to come clean. I am a big time, huge, sugar addict. I never really thought about it until the last few months, but the alert I received during my last pregnancy about having "higher sugar" started waking me up. I was advised to have my blood sugar rechecked after Sweet Pea was born to make sure it had gone back to normal. I did, and it hasn't.... so... much to my chagrin, I have an appointment with my family dr's diabetes educator in January. The nurse who called to set it up only told me that my blood sugar was "high"... she did NOT call screaming in panic that I am diabetic or that I needed to see a dr. immediately, which I think are both pretty good things.
However.... I KNOW that I need to make some major lifestyle changes if I want to have a healthy, active, long life with my husband and children. My knees are starting to get creaky and I'm always tired. My clothes, even three months after baby number 3, definitly don't fit right, and I have no energy.
Good times. Welcome to my, once-again, attempt to get healthy and stay that way. Prayers, please, because it's completely beyond MY ability! :)
